Nixa watches series - 2

At the beginning of August, maybe you are on vacation and what time is more appropriate to start a new series? After a first immersion in the television tastes of Aurélia, Julien and Simon, here is the second part of our series of articles on… series, precisely.

Gabriel is a fan of House of Cards: “I have several shows in mind, but I would say that the one that struck me the most was House of Cards. The whole thing is excellent, whether it's the character that Kevin Spacey plays, the incredibly well-executed cinematography or the story told.

The action is possibly a little exaggerated but it is precisely this semi-fictional aspect that makes the show more and more impactful from one episode to another.

I can't wait to start watching Season 4."

Adaptation of a British series of the same name from 1990, itself adapted from a novel by Michael Dobbs, this Netflix production has been renewed for a fourth season to come in 2016.

We no longer present 24, Philippe's choice. This series has 9 seasons, the first 8 having been broadcast between 2001 and 2010, then a last of 12 episodes in the spring of 2014.

It is the singularity of the unit of time used in this series that seduced our programmer. Indeed, each season - with the exception of the ninth - is made up of 24 episodes which correspond to a total of 24 hours. The action takes place almost in real time.

The series tells the adventures of Jack Bauer, a member of a fictional counter-terrorism agency. The singular treatment of time therefore only reinforces the suspense proper to the theme.

Broadcast between 2001 and 2005 by HBO, Six Feet Under is unbeatable among Marion's series.

We follow for 5 seasons the adventures of the Fischer family, owners of a funeral home in Los Angeles. The series addresses extremely varied themes such as, of course, death, but also homosexuality, adolescence or even mental illness and does so both in a serious way and in a lighter tone, which can sometimes be comical.

“The depth and accuracy of the characters, the incredible performance of the actors and above all, the best finale ever for a series to date make this a must see for me.”

Six Feet Under - or SFU - has also won 3 Golden Globes and 9 Emmy Awards.

So here are three new recommendations. Do not hesitate to share your thoughts or your opinion on these series if you have already seen them.
