About the Company

Pelican International acquired the assets of Confluence Outdoor LLC, based in Greenville, South Carolina. With this acquisition, the company now offers a large assortment of paddle sports equipment, from premium brands to more accessible products, all reliable.

Pelican International changed its website name from pelicansport.com to become confluenceoutdoor.com. We are proud to offer a multibrand experience which includes the brands: Pelican, Wilderness Systems, Dagger, Perception, Boardworks, Advanced Elements, and GSI Outdoors.

Idea

Pelican International aims to develop an innovative, custom e-commerce solution for Confluence Outdoor, a rapidly expanding multi-brand company. The goal is to create a unified and scalable platform capable of efficiently centralizing operations across multiple locations in North America, while addressing the specific needs of each brand.

This solution should enable Confluence Outdoor to sell directly to consumers while providing an unparalleled user experience tailored to the unique characteristics of each brand. The architecture must be robust and scalable enough to support the company's continuous growth and adapt to future market developments.

The Challenge

Confluence Outdoor faced significant challenges in transitioning from a B2B manufacturer to a direct-to-consumer business while managing multiple brands across various locations in North America.

The complexity of their operations, coupled with the need for a seamless integration with existing systems like Salesforce, made off-the-shelf e-commerce solutions like Shopify inadequate for their needs. Additionally, the requirement to unify their multi-brand strategy under a single platform, while providing customers with a cohesive experience, added to the complexity.

These challenges necessitated a custom-built solution that could address their specific needs and support their growth in the direct-to-consumer market.

The Solution

To meet the complex needs of Confluence Outdoor, we developed a custom e-commerce solution leveraging enterprise-level technologies like Python and Django, with seamless Salesforce integration for efficient operations management.
